So reminiscent of the Singapore traditional food favorites that have been propagated from the 70's till present is the constant influx of common yet popular treats like Mee Siam, Laksa,Toast and Hot Milk Tea. This particular set piece is a personal combination for a duo that can be found in Ah Wang's Coffee Shop Restaurant, one of the offerings for re-branded mornings treats as mentioned above that attempts to cultivate traditional morning breakfast for youngsters and urbanists in modern air-conditioned modern ambience.
The mee siam among many other offerings outshine in its right mix of sweet gravy and sour lime freshly hand squeezed that does not burden the stomach with heavy spiciness like others. The table is effervescent with its assam sweet fragrance and warm vapor in the midst of the cool surrounding garnished with chopped spring onion, bean sprout and sliced boiled egg.
The laksa is not the spicy type as compared to some fiery ones, however caution must be exercised for non- chili takers and if you enjoy laksa of heavy gravy base, this is a highly suitable one for you.
As for the toast, it is simply enjoyable as the kaya and butter mix spread melt nicely with every munch of the crispy toasted sandwich.
And the milk tea is just smoothly marvelous with a pleasantly added portion when you choose to up-size it for a few cents more. An overall thumbs up for this well balanced eatery.
